The 'Amazon - Delete Snapshots By Instance Tag' task will delete all snapshots of EBS Volumes that correspond to instances that correspond to an Instance tag specified in the task if the snapshots are older than the specified number of days, which can be entered in the 'Days To Keep Snapshots' tab.

How To Set Up Your Task

Here is a breakdown of the steps of how to set up your 'Amazon - Delete Snapshots By Instance Tag' task.

Step 1 - Choose a name for your task.

Step 2 - Choose the credential for the AWS account you would like to manage

Step 3 - Choose the region in which your chosen AWS resources are located

Step 4 - Choose the 'Amazon - Delete Snapshots By Instance Tag' task from the Task drop-down list

Step 5 - Choose the Tag Name to be linked to this task

Step 6  - Choose the Tag Value to be linked to this task

Step 7 - Choose the number of 'Days To Keep Snapshots'. Any snapshots of EBS volumes that are attached to instances that have the Instance tag specified in the task after this period will automatically be deleted when the task executes.

Step 8 - Choose a predefined schedule (or create your own)  from the Schedule drop-down list for when you would like this task to run.

Step 9 - Choose whether you would like to be notified when the task is complete.

 Step 10 - Click the Save button to complete the task creation.
